In 1990, Michael’s Gems and Glass was established as the first retail outlet of rocks and minerals on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Everyone was skeptical about how rocks would sell at the beach but almost 25 years and multiple stores later, Michael’s is often a favorite destination for many visitors who vacation every year on the Outer Banks. Michael’s goods are about as natural as you can get. Earth-made, sometimes man-enhanced rocks, seashells, fossils and mineral items make truly unique gifts. We like the jewelry crafted with gemstones, the agate geodes and bookends. This new location is in the same shopping center as Sound Feet Shoes.
