The northernmost campground in Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Oregon Inlet Campground is situated alongside the Atlantic Ocean, very close to Oregon Inlet and the charter fishing opportunities at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. The Town of Nags Head, with all its restaurants, shops and amenities, is only about 8 miles up the road, but this picturesque campground feels far away from all of that. The campground has 120 sites, each with a paved parking pad, picnic table and charcoal grill. Three bathhouses have flush toilets, potable water and heated outdoor showers. Forty-seven sites provide RV hookups for water and electricity. Nearby recreational opportunities include beach driving (with a permit), swimming, fishing, birding and boating in the sound (there's a boat ramp across the street). Leashed pets are allowed. The campground is open year-round. Reservations and payments for camp sites must be made online at recreation.gov.
