Things To Do in Nags Head: Diving

Scuba diving and snorkeling are more common on the Outer Banks than you might think. Here in what’s known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic, an abundance of shipwrecks make interesting dive sites. Nags Head, NC, is home to one popular site for snorkeling and spear fishing.

Designated in 1991 as North Carolina’s first Historic Shipwreck Preserve, the USS Huron lies 250 yards from the beach. During the summer, buoys may mark her bow and stern.
