Authentic Indian food has finally arrived on the Outer Banks, and diners who know their North Indian cuisine are impressed. Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, Masala Bay offers a variety of hearty dishes, including, but not limited to, many vegetarian and vegan options. Fine ingredients and the flavors and spices of India are used to create delicious menu items like Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, Murg Tikka Tandoori, Shrimp Tandoori, Chana Dal (stewed chickpeas), Aloo Tikki (potato fritters) and so many more. The naan is on point, and a nice range of appetizers and desserts are offered, as is a kids' menu. The full bar includes creative cocktail options as well as a wine list and numerous exotic beer offerings. Masala Bay is located on Currituck Sound just across the Wright Memorial Bridge in Point Harbor. The views of Currituck Sound are exceptional, outdoor dining is available and boating to the restaurant is possible as there is water access and free dockage. Ask about the to-go party trays for 10 to 40 people.
