The 65-foot, red and white boat dubbed "Flounder Pounder", Miss Oregon Inlet Head Boat has been running in Oregon Inlet for about 30 years and was the first head boat in the area. She is powered by twin 350 HP diesels, she is equipped with complete electronics including loran, fathometers, ship-to-shore and C.B. radios.
Miss Oregon Inlet Head Boat is no stranger to fishing excursions and comes with three crew members at the ready — the experienced Captain Tripp Phillips and two mates.
Tripp Phillips started working on the Miss Oregon Inlet at 14-years-old. He worked as a bait boy for three years and then was promoted to first mate for another two years. In November of 2019 Captain Phillips took his captains license class at age 18. He passed his 6-pack and 100-ton license class to become licensed to run the Head boat. In spring of 2020 Captain Phillips was promoted to captain and started running the Head boat at age 19. Captain Phillips stated "It has been an honor to take the roll as captain and a great experience for my future life aspirations."
