The Outer Banks Daredevils Baseball Team

The Outer Banks Daredevils are a collegiate summer baseball team, playing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The team is one of the founding member clubs of the Coastal Plains League in 1997, and after taking the 1998 season off, the Daredevils returned to the CPL in 1999 with a new owner, Warren Spivey. The team was sold in 2006 to Melton Felton, who moved the teams from Manteo HS to First Flight HS and continued participating in the CPL through 2011. Following the 2011 season, the team was shut down and did not play in 2012. A group of new owners restarted the team in 2013, and joined the Tidewater Summer League, and are excited to continue the proud tradition of Daredevils Baseball here in the Outer Banks. So bring the family and come on out for America’s Favorite Pastime!  We look forward to seeing you!

Daredevils History…
The Outer Banks Daredevils Baseball Club began play in the CPL in 1997, then returned in 1999 with a new owner, Warren Spivey. The team played its games from 1997 – 2005 at Coy Tillett Memorial Field at Manteo High School. In 2005 the team was sold to local businessman Marcus Felton, who moved the team to First Flight Baseball Complex in Kill Devil Hills, where the team has played from 2005 through the 2011 season. After taking the 2012 season off, a new group of local businessmen, led by Donnie Just, owner of Tranquil House Inn & 1587, has put the Outer Banks Daredevils back to the field, and the boys of summer will be back in action again this summer.

Daredevils through the years…
The Daredevils have won two Coastal Plain League Petitt Cup championships (2002, 2003), the award for the league champion, and have reached the finals four times: 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004. Outer Banks made it to the semifinals of the Petitt Cup Playoffs in 2009 after winning the first half CPL North Division title and reached its highest national ranking ever, No. 7, by Perfect Game Crosschecker. In 2013, the Outer Banks Daredevils won the Tidewater Summer League Championship and finished "runners up" in the 2014 campaign."
