Our property, "Shades of Blue" had an unexpected guest – honey bees! 🐝
We politely provided long-term housing with the help of local beekeeper Ann Baker. Our maintenance tech Christine Ackermann joined in the fun of helping to find the Queen.

When Anne's not buzzing around, you can find Ann at her with her bees Premium Honeybee Starter Hives OR at her ice cream shop Coastal Creamery OBX in Nags Head – milepost 16, right beside Miller’s Waterfront. Stop in for a sweet treat! 🍦

Wow! What a difference one year can make... these photos were taken July 2023 and July 2024. It'll be a lot of restoration work for the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse for the next year+ but we can't wait to see how it turns out!
