* Cape Hatteras National Seashore: Open all year with an ORV permit. Includes areas like Rodanthe, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras, and Ocracoke .
* Corolla/Carova (Currituck County): 4WD access is allowed year-round. However, from the last Saturday in April through the first Saturday in October, a $50 parking permit is required.
🚫 Seasonal Closures (May 1 – September 30):
* Nags Head & Kill Devil Hills: Beach driving is off-limits during these dates. Permits are valid from October 1 to April 30.
📝 Permit Tips:
* Permits are available online or at visitor centers.
* Corolla/Carova: Parking permits are limited to 300 per week during the season, so plan ahead .
