A #beautiful morning at the #oceanfront. Ocean water temp 43 degrees. Winds are SW at 6 knots. High tide 6:39 a.m. Low tide 1:20 p.m. Small #waves rolling in.
#Sunny and #cold. Winds are NW at 12 knots. Air temp 34 degrees. Ocean water temp 44 degrees. A #NOAA observation buoy was recently deployed off the end of the pier. It collects valuable weather as well as #ocean data for future renewable ocean energy device testing.
Throwback Thursday -- Mackenzie Hull of Oswego, N.Y. had her hands full with this nice, big BLACK DRUM fight a month ago. Her friends, Zach Sedlacek of Kitty Hawk and James Meyers of Kill Devil Hills, were on hand to help her.
Visitors can easily see this bouy off the end of pier!

Crunch Time -- NW winds at 25 knots bringing in some super cold air. Ocean temp 46 degrees, air temp 33. Low tide 7:15 a.m. High tide 12:59 p.m. The frozen beach sand crunches when you walk on it!
